Isle of Wight, England
The Isle of Wight is a tempting blend of white clifftops, fascinating wildlife, above-average temperatures and golden beaches, including beaches for dogs. We bet that made the dog's ears prick up.The Best Shorelines
There are plenty of beaches interwoven with scenic walks, amusements and eateries. Sandown is great for families thanks to its clean beach and pleasure pier. For a more panoramic option, head to Ryde, famed for its spacious shoreline and low tide that goes out for half a mile. Ryde is a delight for everyone, from dog walkers to kite surfers. Finally, test the surf at Compton Bay, where the swells reach 5ft.Fun Activities
History buffs of all ages will love Cowes. The area is home to two castles built by Henry VIII, alongside Osborne House, once Queen Victoria and Prince Albert’s winter escape. Over in Newport, the island’s capital, treat kids to a few hours at Monkey Haven, a sanctuary for 13 primate species.
Conscious Tourism
The Isle of Wight has a ‘drive less see more’ ethos, encouraging people to travel by foot, bicycle and other green methods. So, get yourself a map or download Maps.me (an offline map app) and get exploring.Where To Stay
Treat the family to a luxurious Art Deco retreat at Culver Down Manor, a mile from Shanklin. With seven spacious bedrooms, beautiful clifftop views and traditional surrounding gardens, it’s like stepping back in time. Plus, there’ll be no queues for the bathroom in the morning because there are five!Your CP Essentials
Fill the family suitcase with our ocean-inspired turtle print, splashed across PJs (in sizes for men, women, maternity, curve and kids) and kids’ swim shorts and men's swim shorts too. Then venture onto the hotel balcony at sunrise in our white hooded dressing gowns.
Mallorca, Spain
Everyone falls in love with Mallorca. Go there once, and you’ll return again and again. Mallorca, also called ‘Majorca’, is the largest of the Balearic Islands. It’s a colourful mosaic of mountain tops, quaint villages, beautiful beaches and even cave systems. But the best thing about Mallorca is that it’s blessed with up to 300 days of sunshine each year. Time to top up that tan!
The Best Shorelines
Beaches — where do we begin? If you plan to hire a car, we suggest beach hopping throughout the day. Locals love the unspoiled shores of Cala Torta, and once you see the idyllic blue shoreline, you’ll understand why. Alternatively, the inviting cove of Cala Deià is a favourite with creative types. And Platja de Alcúdia is a top choice for families due to its spacious, clean beach and close vicinity to shower facilities and restaurants. Finally, for a rural location with the finest white sand, head to Es Trenc, also called the ‘virgin’ beach.
Fun Activities
Take a trip to the Instagram-worthy town of Sóller and hitch a traditional tram ride to Palma. While in the vibrant capital, pick up souvenirs in the shopping district and pass by the iconic Catedral-Basílica de Santa María de Mallorca. We also suggest visiting the spectacular Cuevas del Drach, an extensive cave system. Cameras at the ready for the boat ride across the enchanting underground lake.
Conscious Tourism
Mallorca is popular with holidaymakers worldwide, which doesn’t come without its environmental consequences. In 2021, a ban was placed on single-use plastics, including straws, plates and cups. The local government also passed a law calling for the island’s tourism companies to adopt circular economy measures.Where To Stay
The island is dotted with all-inclusive beach resorts and attractive holiday villas to suit various budgets. Top of the list is Cala Garba, a chic and contemporary villa in the heart of the countryside. Equipped with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and all the mod cons, the private pool is the cherry on top!Your CP Essentials
The vibrancy of Mallorca requires an eye-catching wardrobe. The bright coral tones of the ribbed bikini top and bottoms, alongside our fun octopus print on men’s swim shorts, women's swimsuit and kids’ PJs, do just the trick!Quintana Roo, Mexico
The Mexican state of Quintana Roo is a beach lover’s utopia. Located on the eastern tip of the Yucatán Peninsula, it combines nightlife and sightseeing with beautiful beaches and ample chill time. By May, the temperature is high, but there are fewer crowds, so you have more chance of discovering a secluded beach. The Best Shorelines
Perhaps topping the beach list is Isla Holbox, north of Cancun. The bohemian beach town is perfect for sampling sunshine, cocktails and the Caribbean Sea while easing into the sleepy island life. Alternatively, head to Playa Delfines in Cancun for its panoramic views minus the high-rise hotels. Finally, the breathtaking is Lake Bacalar is a must-see. The 42 km freshwater lake is famed for its piercing turquoise appearance and picturesque boardwalks and swings for the ultimate lounging experience.Fun Activities
As soon as you arrive in Mexico, you'll hear about cenotes (pronounced "cen-no-tes"). These deep and refreshing natural sinkholes puncture the landscape in their thousands. Some of the best spots include Dos Ojos and Calavera in Tulum and Cenotes Azul in Bacalar. We bet you'll be ravenous after all that sightseeing. Luckily, Quintana Roo is famous for its cuisine that combines pre-Hispanic and Spanish ingredients. Local favourites include Mole, Papadzules, a style of enchiladas, and Tamales, a traditional corn dough dish filled with meat, cheese and beans. Finish your day by pulling on your boldest beach co-ord and sampling the nightlife. Top tip: bypass busy Cancun and head to the more chilled Playa del Carmen and Tulum.
Conscious Tourism
If you decide to beach hop, opt for the bus instead of hiring a car. Mexico has a safe and reliable bus service linking the east coast. If you want to avoid transport altogether, head to the car-free island of Isla Holbox.Where To Stay
